First installment for Songs For Friends is “Mortal Enemy” — a song for Austin.
I used this prompt to make something kind of evil. But I could not help injecting a bit of happiness half-way through. You know, Austin, as much as I want to believe you are some kind of N E M E S I S, opposition gets us nowhere. That is why the “evil” gets devoured later in the song.

I spent more time on this song than originally intended, but am very happy with the results. Future songs may not get this much attention, as the initial purpose was to compose short and diverse works to broaden my skills a bit. But who knows, I may just end up doing this with all 14!
